Fee Waiver

Print

Applicants whose financial resources are severely limited may request a fee waiver from the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). LSAC, in addition to granting fee waivers to applicants who are determined to be financially needy, also grants select candidates waivers for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) and for test preparation materials offered by LSAC. The University of Louisville School of Law will grant an application fee waiver to any applicant who received a fee waiver from LSAC. (A copy of the fee waiver approval letter from LSAC will need to be given to the Admissions Office for this to be granted.)

An applicant for admission who does not obtain a fee waiver from LSAC may request a fee waiver directly from the Office of Admission. Such a request should include:

  • Application Fee Waiver Request Form
  • Prior tax returns for self, spouse, parents and/or
  • Copy of Student Aid Report or other Financial Aid documents (current students only)

Since the number of fee waivers granted is limited to applicants whose resources are very limited, applicants are encouraged to provide supporting documentation and/or as much detail as possible. The Application Fee Waiver Form and Statement requesting a fee waiver should be forwarded to the Office of Admission. A decision regarding the fee waiver is typically made within ten business days of the request being received by the Office of Admission.

Fee waiver requests must be received by March 1.
