LSAT

The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a half-day standardized test required for admission to all ABA-approved law schools, most Canadian law schools, and many non-ABA-approved law schools. It provides a standard measure of acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills that law schools can use as one of several factors in assessing applicants. The test is administered four times a year at hundreds of locations around the world.

LSDAS

The LSDAS provides a means of centralizing and standardizing undergraduate academic records to simplify the law school admission process. The LSDAS prepares a report for each law school to which you apply. The report contains information that is important in the law school admission process. Your report will include:

  • An undergraduate academic summary (It is the applicants responsibility to have official transcripts sent to the LSDAS.)
  • Copies of all undergraduate, graduate, and law/professional school transcripts
  • LSAT scores and writing sample copies
  • Copies of Letters of Recommendation processed by LSAC.

JD Credential Assembly Service (JD CAS) for Foreign-Educated Applicants if:

  • you received your undergraduate degree from a foreign institution, OR
  • you were directly enrolled at a foreign institution(s) and the total amount of work you completed at all foreign institutions combined is the equivalent of more than one year of undergraduate study in the US, its territories, or Canada.

To use JD CAS, you must register for the LSDAS and you must request that the appropriate documents (e.g., mark sheets, degree certifications, transcripts) be sent directly to LSAC from the institution(s) you attended.
