Your Gifts Make a Difference
Today, more than ever, the support of alumni and friends of the law school is the catalyst that provides new and changing perspectives for the people who matter most in legal education: students and faculty. Your gifts are the economic stimulus that enable faculty to engage in research, teaching and service that reaches new heights of academic excellence.
We are deeply grateful to those alumni and friends who have so generously contributed to Louisville Law this past academic year, and encourage you to give again, thereby making a tangible difference in raising the level of excellence in which we all take such great pride. We invite you to join our generous alumni and friends by designating gifts to any of the initiatives listed below or to discretionary funds, which are always needed. The University of Louisville Foundation Inc. manages all gifts to Louisville Law.
Annual Gifts: Help close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating students through your regular gift to the school. Use a check or credit card to make your monthly, quarterly or annual gift to the UofL Foundation.
Matching Gifts: You may be able to double or triple your gift by including a matching-gift form from your company along with your contribution.
Stock Gifts: Save on capital gains taxes and make your contribution with stock or mutual fund shares instead of cash. If you have appreciated securities worth more than you paid for them, you gain a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value of the shares and avoid capital gains.
Endowments: Establish a permanent fund in memory or honor of someone special. An endowed fund can be set up during your life or through a bequest for a wide variety of purposes.
Bequests: Include Louisville Law in your will or estate plan and leave a legacy of education to future generations. Request information on making gifts of life insurance, retirement plan benefits, stock, property, cash or through a charitable trust.
For more information on any of the above gift plans or if you would like to establish a new fund, please contact our development director, Robert F. Micou at:
