Professor Tony Arnold will be hiring two students to serve as research assistants in the Center for Land Use amp; Environmental Responsibility for 10 hours per week for a total of 30 weeks over the coming year: 10 weeks in Summer 2013, 10 weeks in Fall 2013, and 10 weeks in Spring 2014. Students will work as part of a team with Professor Arnold, Professor Daniel DeCaro, and perhaps other researchers on developing adaptive planning and problem-solving processes for watershed (or other ecosystem) governance. Tasks might include research into legal authorities, case-study or field research on watershed institutions, laboratory research on the psychology of participation and procedural justice in the management of common-pool resources, leadership of or participation in community-based watershed planning and management (application of research to specific public problems), various Center administrative tasks, and even gathering of data on water conditions.
