Deadline for Tryouts for Sports Law Moot Court Competition

Interested in Sports Law? The Moot Court Board is sponsoring a Sports Law Moot Court Competition (contingent upon registration confirmation) at Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana, during Mardi Gras! If interested please submit a resume, letter of interest, and writing sample in a sealed envelope, to the Moot Court Board office NO LATER THAN 3:00pm, Thursday, November 5, 2009. Professor Anita Moorman will be coaching the team and the competition will take place February 10-12, 2010. The Office of Admissions is hosting a Preview Day on Saturday, November 7 for prospective students. The event will take place from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the School of Law. This is an excellent opportunity for friends, relatives, or acquaintances to learn more about the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.We will offer a mock class with Professor John Cross, a student panel, information on careers in the legal profession as well as an admission/financial aid Q&A. Brandeis Birthday Celebration

The U.S. Postal Service and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law will honor the city’s native son, Louis D. Brandeis, on the 153rd anniversary of his birth.Brandeis is featured on a new set of commemorative stamps, which also includes U.S. Supreme Court associate justices Joseph Story, Felix Frankfurter and William J. Brennan Jr.A presentation will be held at 10 AM in room 275. Prior to the event, Professor and Distinguished University Scholar Laura Rothstein will present a slide show on the life and history of Brandeis. Congressman John Yarmuth, Louisville Postmaster Richard Curtsinger, and Dean Chen will also speak.The commemorative stamp and other Brandies publications and memorabilia will be available for purchase. Third-year law students are authorized to practice law under supervision and have done so successfully in Jefferson District and Family Courts representing victims of domestic violence.
