The IT staff will be out of the office from about 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, through the entire day Tuesday, February 28, 2012, to assist with computer administration of the Kentucky Bar Exam in Lexington.Since February 2008, the Kentucky Office of Bar Admissions has used Extegrity's Exam4 for the Kentucky and Multistate Essay Exams.

Learn how you can be involved in the Central High School Law and Government Magnet Program through Street Law (for public service credit) or Marshall-Brennan Civil Liberties (for academic credit) and other activities in teaching at Central High School Law and Government Magnet.Current law students involved in the program and students from Central will share their experiences in these programs which began in 2007-2008. Sponsored by: Central High School Partnership, The Diversity Committee, Black Law Students Association and the Samuel L. Greenebaum Public Service Program.

The University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law would like to extend the invitation to students who are interested in pursuing a law degree to attend our “Lunch and Learn” event entitled “Discover Law: Facts, Snacks and Getting on Track”. The event will focus on the ins and outs of the law school admissions process as well as allow attendees the opportunity to speak with current law students. During the event, students will have the opportunity to register with DiscoverLaw.org. Lunch will be provided for all students in attendance. We look forward to welcoming students to discover law with UofL Law.

Courtney Pawley will be binding appellate briefs for 1Ls from March 2-4.
There will be a sign-up sheet at the Resource Center beginning Monday
February 20 if you would like to have all three briefs bound for the low
cost of $10.60. When you sign-up on the sheet you will receive red or
blue paper for the covers of your briefs. BLS professors will have more details next week to give to interested students.

Mr. Alan Tse (pronounced "say"), the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Churchill Downs
coming in to speak about his position at Churchill, how he got there,
and any advice
he has for students wishing to get into sports law or
business/corporation law. Also, Churchill Downs has a legal internship
program so this would be a great opportunity for those interested to
make a great networking connection with Mr. Tse!! Also in attendance
will be recent Brandeis graduate, Lizzie Gersh. Lizzie was a co-founder
of SELS back in 2008, has been working in Churchill's legal department
since she graduated in 2010, and will have some great insight from the
perspective of a recent grad. Sandwiches,
snacks, and drinks will be provided. The Event will be in room 175.

On Thursday, March 8th, the SBA is sponsoring a MedMal Mixer for some of the professional schools at UofL. Students form the Law School, Medical School, Dental School, Nursing School, and School of Public Health are invited to attend this mixer. It will be held at Howl at the Moon at Fourth Street Live! from 7:30 - 11:00pm. Free food and drink specials will be provided. All Law School students are encouraged to wear red!

Professor Arnold will be discussing course offerings that are beneficial to students who are interested in the fields of environmental law and land use and planning.
The University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law would like to extend the invitation to students who are interested in pursuing a law degree to attend our pre-law day entitled “Discover Law: Bridging the Gap between College and Law”. The Event will target the following students: high school students, students enrolled at community colleges as well as students enrolled at four year intuitions of higher education. The pre-law day is designed to be a one-day event, in which students will have the opportunity to partake in educational sessions such as, “How to prepare for Law School”, “Navigating the Admissions Process, and “How to conquer the LSAT” as well as a current student panel featuring students from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law. Lunch will provided for the all those in attendance at the event. During lunch, students will have the opportunity to register with DiscoverLaw.org. We look forward to welcoming students to discover law with UofL Law.
Following Tuesday’s (2/27) debate, the Federalist Society
will hold a brief interest session about opportunities to serve as
officers. As well as having opportunities
to be active in the law school, the Federalist Society is a prominent national
organization that has significant networking opportunities. If you are unavailable to attend, but still
have interest, please contact April Wimberg at aascog01@louisville.edu. Elections will be held the first week of
April.
