Save the date for the first program in the law library's Fall 2013 Tea Time series. These brown bag sessions are designed for students, but faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Most of us carry a smartphone everywhere we go. We use apps to get directions to the closest pizza place, check sports scores and update our Facebook status. With the proper apps, your smartphone can also serve as a personal copier; an invisible, portable hard-drive; and—if you can find your files—as a document storage and management device. These apps harness the same built-in functions you use to take pictures of your friend and post them to Instagram, but instead use them in the boring business of legal practice. Join librarians Virginia Mattingly and Kurt Metzmeier, along with the law school’s Jim Becker, in a short program on how to use the powerful computer in your iPhone or Android to get a little work done--when you are not checking Twitter or playing Candy Crush. The program is informal and there will be plenty of time for questions.

Next Workshop:

  • October 30: Legislative History

Come join the Federal Bar Association, Student Chapter at a Happy Hour at Molly Malones in Saint Matthews this Friday, September 27 from 6PM-9PM. The FBA is a brand new organization formed to provide students with exposure to federal practice and networking opportunities. This is a great opportunity to relax after a long week, to meet the FBA officers, to learn more about involvement in FBA, and to mingle with fellow classmates. There is no cover and guests are welcome. Drink specials will be available.  Please contact Greg Finch,, or Meghan Burns,, with questions.  We look forward to seeing you there!
