Event registration for bands that want to participate in Lawlapalooza 2009, Thursday, October 1, at the Phoenix Hill Tavern, begins at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 1, and closes at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, September 15.

Lots of bands have expressed interest in performing this year, including one or two new bands and several that haven't participated for the past two or more years.

Also, there have been some minor changes to the rules, so please review them at http://www.law.louisville.edu/lawlapalooza/rules. One important rule change concerns guest passes for bands. Previously, each band received one guest pass, and each band member was allowed to purchase one guest ticket at a discounted price. This year, and henceforth, there will be no more discounted guest tickets. Instead, each band will receive FOUR guest passes, not one.

Because so many bands are interested, we're likely to fill up our eight available performance slots quickly. The first eight bands to register are guaranteed a performance time. Every band after number eight will be wait-listed.

Because of a communication error, a couple of bands have already paid their $50 registration fee. If those bands do not make the first-eight cut, their fee will be refunded. For the rest of you who have not yet paid the registration fee, DO NOT do so on Tuesday. Please wait until you hear from Jim Becker, who'll let you know whether you're on the play list or the wait list. After Jim lets you know that you're on the play list, you'll have 24 hours to pay the registration fee. Any band that has not paid the registration fee within 24 hours of notification will be moved to the wait list, and a wait-listed band will take its place.
