The Office of the Bullitt County Attorney has an IMMEDIATE need for a law clerk(s) for an internship position during the semester and continuing over the summer. If you are interested and can only do a summer internship, let Ms. Alvey know that in your cover letter.
Responsibilities would include research, writing, and assistance to attorney in and out of court. Interested persons should be interested in criminal prosecution.
Prefer students who have completed the first year of law school.

On Thursday, January 24, Laurel Hajek, Assistant Dean for the Office of Professional Development, will conduct another workshop for ALL students. This session will be on interviewing. This will be of particular interest to first year students who will be participating in the mock interviews on Saturday, January 26. Dean Hajek will be available to answer questions you may have.
She will be discussing such topics such as what to wear to an interview, questions that may be asked of you at the interview, questions to ask the interviewer, closing the interview, thank you notes, and references.
There will be two brown-bag sessions offered. The first session will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Room 177. The second session will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Room 171.

The Clark County Legal Self-Help Center, located within the Clark County Courthouse in Jeffersonville, IN, is seeking 2L and 3L law students to perform volunteer pro bono work during the spring semester and during the summer.
The Center is open twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Its goal is to help local residents in navigating the often confusing court system by providing preliminary information, guidance, and referrals to walk-in clients. The Center also provides a computer system to enable qualified clients to prepare and print certain court documents for filing with the court clerk's office. Most recently, volunteer lawyers of the area responded to the March 2012 tornados and the facility was positively discussed in news and magazine stories. A complete description of the project is attached.
Local attorneys staff the Center, but law students are also needed to make initial assessments of client issues and to assist the on-duty attorney in providing information about the legal process to clients. Students may also help clients in using the computer system to fill out court documents. Students are welcome and encouraged to volunteer.
