Tennessee Bar Association Diversity Job Fair - Student Registration Deadline is Friday, July 13th

The Tennessee Bar Association Diversity Job Fair is scheduled for Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8 in Nashville, TN.

Good Luck on the Bar Exam Refreshments - Thursday, July 5th at 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. in Mosaic Lobby

The Office of Professional Development wishes our May 2012 graduates Good Luck on the Bar Exam!  On Thursday, July 5th at 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. in the Mosaic Lobby, the Office of Professional Development will provide bagels, coffee and juice for the morning bar review and cookies and brownies for the evening bar review.

Office consists of approximately 30 solo practitioners with concentrations in several areas of the law, including criminal law, plaintiff's work, family law, contract law and employment law, among others.

Duties include performing research, drafting legal memoranda and motions, and performing other office duties as needed.

Schedule is 30-35 hours/week during the summer; 12-20 hours/week once school begins.

New Public Service Opportunity - Doctors & Lawyers for Kids

The Public Service Program has approved a new placement, Doctors & Lawyers for Kids.  This organization trains doctors to take social/legal histories to identify legal issues that effect the health and well-being of their patients. They then provide in-house free legal services to indigent pediatric patients and their families.  The goal is to identify problems before they reach a crisis and practice preventive law along with preventive medicine.   A complete description is attached.

Students will assist the staff attorney in client input, training, case preparation, research, and coordination with volunteer counsel.  Students can work remotely from home. 

They can use four students at the moment.  Interested students can contact Jina Scinta at jina.scinta@louisville.edu.  The first four students will be signed up for the project and provided the contact information.
