Immigration Moot Court Board Team Now Accepting Applications

The Moot Court Board is now accepting applications for the Immigration Moot Court Competition which will be held this coming spring. Interested applicants must submit a Statement of Interest, a Writing Sample, and a Resume. Applicants may place their materials in a folder outside the Moot Court Office's door. National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition Tryouts

Any interested 2L or 3L may submit materials for consideration to participate in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, held February 21-23, 2013 at Pace University in White Plains, NY. The team is coached by Professor FitzGerald and Attorney Randy Strobo.

To be considered for this year's team, please send an email to Caitlin Baird at containing the following items in pdf format:

1. Writing Sample (brief, memo, etc.)

2. Statement of Interest (1 page maximum)

The deadline for submission is Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 5:00 pm. The coaches will review the sumbissions and notify the students selected on Saturday, October 13, 2012.

Only one team of two or three members is allowed in the competition from each school.

Trademark Law Moot Court Team Now Accepting Applications

Students interested in the Saul Leftkowitz Memorial Trademark Law Moot Court Competition please provide a typed statement of interest, not to exceed two pages, a writing sample, resume and unofficial transcript. Submit these materials to Ross Thompson ( or Professor Lars Smith ( by Thursday, October 11. The competition takes place in Chicago on February 8, 2013. The team will be lead by Faculty Coach Lars Smith and Attorney Jack Wheat. Please feel free to contact Ross Thompson with any questions.

SBA Now Accepts Debit/Credit Card Payment for Merchandise and Ticket Sales

In an effort to better serve you, your SBA is pleased to announce that the Merchandise Store next to Room 075 now accepts Debit and Credit Card Payments. SBA will also be accepting this new form of payment for Decedent's and Barrister's Ball Ticket Sales. 

The Merchandise Store is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am - Noon. 

University of Louisville Law School Picnic Saturday - FOOD SPONSORED BY BARBRI

Come have fun and reconnect with friends, faculty, staff and students at UofL's 1st Annual Fall Picnic (sponsored by the SBA). Grilled burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options, and drinks are provided. Each copy currently on display is available for check out. Similar items can be found by browsing the contents of the bookshelves labeled KF 281-283 in the treatise section on the library's lower level.

Fall Hiring Season - Thompson Miller & Simpson seeking 2L for Summer Associate

Legal Research Exam on Friday

The Legal Research (LR) exam is Friday, October 5.  If you plan to take your LR exam using Exam4, you must successfully complete your practice submission, using your user name (e.g., kkball01), by the LR Exam4 deadline.    
The Law School's exam policies are posted on the School of Law website at  Each student is responsible for reviewing these policies before taking a law school exam.

A Reminder About Reserving Rooms for Events

Students:  If you are planning an event or a meeting at the Law School and need to reserve a room or space (including the Mosaic Lobby), please submit a request in advance using the Room Reservation Form online at  Note - You must be logged into the law school Web site to access the room reservation form!

Before submitting a request for a room, please check to make sure the room you are requesting is available.  Look at the Law School’s event calendar ( to see what other events are scheduled AND review the Law School’s room calendar (the link is right below the event calendar) to confirm there are no class conflicts or other programs scheduled in the same room.
