Earn Academic Credit for Externship with the Office of the Mayor
A new externship opportunity exists for Summer & Fall with the Office of the Mayor.
Student externs can earn two credit hours working with the Mayor’s Office or for agencies performing work for Metro Government, such as the Louisville Metro Human Relations Commission, Louisville Metro Animal Services, etc. The externship will provide opportunities to develop legal research, analysis, and writing skills, as well as communication and organization skills. Special projects will be developed involving a variety of areas of substantive and/or procedural legal issues, and/or analyzing and designing ways to improve articular programs or procedures. Externs will be supervised by an attorney within the Office of the Mayor. Will require 16 hours of work per week during the 7 week summer term; and 8 hours per week during the fall semester.
