Earn Academic Credit for In-House Counsel Externships in Spring 2014

In-House Counsel externships allow students to develop a variety of lawyering skills working under the supervision of attorneys providing legal services within various business organizations.  Students are exposed to a range of substantive law areas and differing types of work product.  During spring 2014, placements are available at General Electric, Appliance Park, Beam, Inc., and Passport Health Plan.  Descriptions of placements are posted on the TWEN course titled “Externship INFORMATION.”  Prerequisites: 1L curriculum & 40 credit hours.  For the Beam Externship, preference is given to students in the top 50%, and who have taken an employment law course.

Students interested in the externship at Beam, Inc., should submit to Professor Jordan a statement of interest, a completed externship pre-registration form, and an unofficial copy of their law school transcript by Tuesday November 5, 2013.  Students interested in the GE or Passport externships should submit to Professor Jordan a completed externship pre-registration form, and an unofficial copy of their law school transcript by Wednesday November 6, 2013.
