Peggy Browning Fellowship Program

The Peggy Browning Fund announces their 2014 summer fellowships. The application deadline is January 17, 2014.

The core program is the Summer Fellowship Program, which is comprised of a 10-week fellowship during the summer months at labor-related organizations around the country. In 2014, they will support between 60 and 70 funded summer fellowships, plus one part-time funded School-Year Fellowship at the Chicago Newspaper Guild for 2014-2015.

The Summer Fellowship Program provides stipends to 1st and 2nd year law students who dedicate this time to advancing the cause of workers' rights. Stipends will be a minimum of $5,000 per student for the ten-week employment period.

To apply, go to to complete the application form. A cover letter and resume must accompany your application. Some organizations require a writing sample. See the fellowship descriptions on the website for each respective organization for any additional requirements, which may vary from one organization to another. Some require one or more of the following: an additional writing sample, specific language skills, a labor law course, or having completed two years of law school. It is strongly encouraged that you to submit your application as soon as possible rather than waiting until the deadline.
