International Trademark Association Annual Meeting in Hong Kong
The International Trademark Association (INTA) is having its 136th Annual Meeting in Hong Kong from May 10-14. The event will be a great experience for law students who are interested in IP or trademark law. The Association will host a Career Development Day on May 12, designed with programming and networking opportunities specifically for law students.
To help law students make their way to the Annual Meeting, INTA offers a scholarship program that provides a complimentary registration to the meeting and up to $500 travel reimbursement. Interested students should complete the application form and submit an essay for consideration.
Professors John Cross and Lars Smith will be attending the conference, as will a number of local intellectual property attorneys. If you have any questions, please consult with Professor Cross. He has researched options and provided the following helpful information:
1. Airfare to Hong Kong that time of year starts at $1500 round trip.
2. There is a nice hotel near the Convention Center for $135 a night, and that rate includes breakfast.
3. No visa is required to visit Hong Kong (although a visa is required if you want to cross into mainland China).
