Public Service Opportunity - Department of Public Advocacy Needs Immediate Student Assistance
The Ky. Department of Public Advocacy is in immediate need of assistance from our students for the projects listed below. If you are a student who needs to fulfill your 30-hour requirement or if you only need to complete a few hours, these opportunities would be perfect for you.
Education Branch - Frankfort Office - The Education Branch needs a student to assist with updates to one of their education manuals. The student would go through the current edition of it and check the case law to be sure it is current.
Appellate Branch - Frankfort Office - The Appellate Branch needs students to transcribe video tapes of trials or testimony. The students would be able to complete most of the hours in their home as long as they have access to a DVD player and a computer with internet capabilities. The students may need to make two trips to the Frankfort office: an initial visit to receive their assignment and then a final visit to return videos. It is very likely students will get all 30 hours completed in a week for this project. Since most of the work is done from home, the hours are at the students' discretion as long as the final deadlines are met.
Interested students should contact Jina Scinta at firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain the public service forms to properly sign up for these projects. Students will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
