WLC Officer Positions & Responsibilities:
1. President
-Serve as representative contact for the school administration and university organizations
-Preside over and facilitate bi-weekly meetings
-Organize committees and maintain regular communication with committee chairs regarding organization activities
-Oversee committees in planning of events and activites
-Delegate responsibilities to officers and members
-Plan agenda and organize bi-weekly meetings by consulting with each officer on progress & activities
-Consult regularly with WLC faculty advisor
-Assist committee members as needed
-Organize annual officer elections
-Regularly attend WLC meetings and events
-Good stress management skills
-Able to commit considerable time and energy to organization
2. Vice President
-Works in constant collaboration with the President to organize, facilitate, and orchestrate WLC affairs
-Assists the President in her duties (see above)
-Preside and facilitate meetings in the absence of the President
-Fulfill presidential duties if the President is unable
-Maintain an enthusiastic and proactive stance toward ensuring the integrity and stability of WLC
-Maintains contact with the President and all officers
-Supports committee chairs in fulfilling their duties
-Suports the coordination of WLC community involvement intiatives
-Regularly attend WLC meetings and WLC activities
-Able to devote time and energy to WLC
-Good stress management skills
3. Treasurer
-Serves as financial advisor
-Provide periodic updates on the financial status of the membership
-Responsible for distribution and management of WLC bank account including deposits and withdraws
-Prepare, with the help of the President and Vice-President, a yearly budget
-Handle payments for scheduled events
-Oversees applications for funding from SGA
-WLC account will name both the President and the Treasurer
-Regularly attend meetings and WLC activities
4. Secretary
-Responsible for taking minutes during the meeting and preserving the minutes from all meetings
-Submit minutes to listserv for posting
-Catalog minutes posted on the listserv by semester and year
-Responsible for disseminating information from minutes in a timely fashion
-At each meeting, review minutes from prior meetings with WLC members
-Responsible for retrieving mail from both the SGA office and the Law School Mailroom
-Assists in organizing WLC officer elections
-Regularly attend WLC meetings and activities
5. Public Relations Officer
-Responsible for designing, creating, and posting all flyers, posters, notices, etc.to inform student body about for WLC and WLC events
-Post WLC and WLC activity info in the Daily Docket and other electronic media
-Serve as a WLC contact for university and community organizations
-Acts as a liaison to other student and community organizations
-Annually update advertising and publicity information
-Maintain WLC ad space in basement
-Regularly attend WLC meetings and events
6. Social Chair/Community Service Chair
-Plan and schedule WLC social events, post-exam celebrations, etc.
-Develop ways in which WLC members can create a close-knit community
-Research WLC community service opportunities in the regional area
-Plan and schedule WLC monthly or bi-monthly community service work
-Design and create an ongoing WLC community service project
-Update WLC officers and members of potential social and community service opportunities
-Assist President, Vice-President, and WLC members in developing mentoring program
-Regularly attend WLC meetings and events
