First Year Law Students
First year law students will have the opportunity to go ahead and sign up for Barbri and/or Kaplan bar review classes. Bar review classes are expensive and the rates are always fluctuating and by signing up early and putting down a deposit you will have locked in your rate at the time you signed up.

The subjects covered in your first year of law school will be covered on the bar so it is important to take good notes in class and learn your first year subjects well.

When registering for your 2nd year fall classes, register to take some subjects tested on the bar exam such as Constitutional Law, Estates & Trusts and Evidence.


Second Year Law Students
Take the Multiple Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE), which is offered in March/April, August, and November. (Note: Each state has different requirements for when you can take the MPRE and what score is required. Check with the Bar Exam administrative authority for the state where you plan to take the exam.)


Third Year Law Students
Apply for the Bar Exam. The deadlines for filing the Bar Exam application vary among states.
