New Public Service Opportunity - Doctors & Lawyers for Kids
The Public Service Program has approved a new placement, Doctors & Lawyers for Kids. This organization trains doctors to take social/legal histories to identify legal issues that effect the health and well-being of their patients. They then provide in-house free legal services to indigent pediatric patients and their families. The goal is to identify problems before they reach a crisis and practice preventive law along with preventive medicine. A complete description is attached.
Students will assist the staff attorney in client input, training, case preparation, research, and coordination with volunteer counsel. Students can work remotely from home.
They can use four students at the moment. Interested students can contact Jina Scinta at firstname.lastname@example.org. The first four students will be signed up for the project and provided the contact information.
