Students who are interested in participating in the ABA Law Student Division 2012-13 Negotiation Competition are invited to submit their expression of interest and availability to BOTH Professors Arnold and Gleason at tom.arnold@louisville.edu and MaryJoGleason@kycourts.net. It is very important that you send an email to both Professors Arnold and Gleason, who are the co-coaches of the teams. Your message should include: a) why you are interested in the Negotiation Competition Team; b) any experience you have had with negotiations (including any past or current classes or other experience); c) your time availability for practices in the evenings and on weekends during September, October, and early November; d) your cell phone number and your email addresses. You may attach a resume if you would like, but it is not necessary. The deadline for expressions of interest is Noon on Friday, September 7. We will take 2 teams to the Region 6 competition in Lansing, Michigan on November 10 and 11. The selected participants must be available to travel to Lansing November 9-12, be available for practices (2-3 hours each) at least twice per week from October 1 to November 9, and be ABA Law Student Division members in good standing no later than October 1. If we receive more expression of interest than the 4 spots available on the teams, we will give preference to students with negotiation experience, as this competition develops and requires advance negotiation skills.
