Negotiation Competition Participants Sought
Posted August 29th, 2012 by Pete Lay
Students who are interested in participating in the ABA Law Student
Division 2012-13 Negotiation Competition are invited to submit their
expression of interest and availability to BOTH Professors Arnold and
Gleason at tom.arnold@louisville.edu
and MaryJoGleason@kycourts.net. It is very important that you send an
email to both Professors Arnold and Gleason, who are the co-coaches of
the teams. Your message should include: a) why you are interested in
the Negotiation Competition Team; b) any experience you have had with
negotiations (including any past or current classes or other
experience); c) your time availability for practices in the evenings and
on weekends during September, October, and early November; d) your cell
phone number and your email addresses. You may attach a resume if you
would like, but it is not necessary. The deadline for expressions of interest is Noon on Friday, September 7. We will take 2 teams to the Region 6 competition in Lansing, Michigan on November 10 and 11. The selected participants must be available to travel to Lansing
November 9-12, be available for practices (2-3 hours each) at least
twice per week from October 1 to November 9, and be ABA Law Student
Division members in good standing no later than October 1. If we receive
more expression of interest than the 4 spots available on the teams, we
will give preference to students with negotiation experience, as this
competition develops and requires advance negotiation skills. If you
have questions about what participation in the competition is like, you
might want to contact 3Ls Jill Smith and Carli Clowers, who competed
last year. Thank you for your interest!
