Fall Schedule for Student Life Information Sessions - Study Abroad on Sept 20

Before too long, it will be time to start thinking about how you want to design your schedule for spring 2013 and perhaps summer 2013.  To help you plan, the Student Life Office is sponsoring a series of information sessions this fall designed to provide information regarding several opportunities you have as a law student to enrich your legal education.

The information sessions will cover study abroad opportunities, externships, the Law Clinic, the Entrepreneurship Clinic, and Fulbright, Boren, FLAS, and Critical Language Scholarship opportunities.  Take advantage of these sessions and be prepared for course registration this November.  Mark the dates on your calendar now.  The information sessions that will be offered this fall are posted below.  All programs begin at noon.

  • September 20 – Study Abroad
  • October 9 – Externships
  • October 23 - Law Clinic and Entrepreneurship Clinic
  • October 25 – Fulbright, Boren, FLAS, and other Scholarship Opportunities

The first session is next Thursday.  Come learn about study abroad opportunities available to you as a law student on September 20.  Did you know that you may take up to thirty (30) hours at an ABA-approved program of foreign law study?

Ms. Virginia Hosono from UofL’s International Center will address logistics.  Dean Ballard will explain the criteria to participate in a study abroad program.  Jacob Sims, President of the International Law Society, will speak about law students’ experiences abroad.  The session will begin at 12:00 p.m. in Room 177.  Pizza will be provided to attendees.
