Dean Hajek is a native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and earned a B.A. from Northwestern University, a M.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.  She has over 15 years of experience serving as an assistant dean of career services.  Dean Hajek worked at the University of Dayton School of Law and The John Marshall Law School (Chicago) before coming to the Brandeis School of Law in 2012.  Prior to beginning her career in academia, Dean Hajek was a manager with the consulting group at Ernst & Young LLP in Cincinnati and an associate with a Florida litigation firm.  She is licensed in both Florida and Ohio and is currently a member of the Louisville Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Jefferson County.  Dean Hajek has been an active member of National Association for Law Placement over the years having served on committees and presented at NALP conferences.  She currently serves on the NALP Audit Committee.


Dean Hajek oversees the Office of Professional Development and the Samuel L. Greenebaum Public Service Program at the law school.  She actively engages in student and alumni career counseling, employer relations, public service initiatives, and programs and workshops focused on career development.
