MCB Mandatory Meeting - TODAY

MCB's first meeting is TODAY, Wednesday, August 31 in room 175 from 12:10-1:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory.

Sign Ups - National Health Law Moot Court Competition

The Moot Court Board is still seeking students who are interested in competing in the Twentieth Annual National Health Law Moot Court Competition. The competition is being held on November 4-5, 2011 at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.

Prof. Marcosson said he had a very difficult decision to make between all of the highly qualified candidates.  Please join the Moot Court Board in congratulating those selected, and thank you to all who tried out.

Moot Court Board Currently Accepting Applications for the 2011 - 2012 Year

MCB is a Recognized Student Organization that plans and manages external and internal moot court, mock trial, and professional skills competitions at the Brandeis School of Law. 

The MCB application process requires students to submit an application, resume, and complete an interview.  Applications and resumes are due Friday, April 15 at 1:00 PMThe MCB application is available outside the MCB office. 

Turn your application and resume in by placing it in the envelope outside the MCB office.  Sign-up for a time to interview on either Monday, April 18 or Tuesday, April 19 when you turn in your materials.  Membership decisions will be made by Friday, April 22.

National Moot Court Try-outs

Tryouts for the National Moot Court Team will be this Friday and Saturday April 15-16th.  All students interested in representing the University at the Regionals in Richmond, VA in November, and possibily the Nationals in New York next January should:

1)  Sign up on the sheet on the Moot Court Board office door by Wednesday, April 13.

2) Submit a brief as your writing sample (can be, doesnt have to be your BLS brief) to Professor Marcosson by this Wed April 13th.

3)  Perform a 15-minute oral argument based on the brief.  

Two Teams of 2 members each will be selected to compete.  Competitors will earn 2 hours of credit, and have the chance to compete against students in the top law schools in the nation.
