Louisville Law Shirts For Sale

Last chance at Louisville Law gear before graduation! 

 Louisville Law shirts are available for PRE-ORDER as T-shirts or Hooded Sweatshirts. Orders must be paid in advance. Contact Ronnie Morton (rhmort02@louisville.edu), Erica Wood (elfriz01@louisville.edu), or the Resource Center for order forms and payment. Shirts will be delivered for pick up to the Resource Center during or after finals. Please see the attachments for the two design options.

Calling All Grads!!! Graduate Day at the Downs - May 10, 2012

To celebrate your upcoming graduation, you are cordially invited to attend UofL Alumni Association's Graduate Day at the Downs! Presented by UofL Alumni Association, Student Activities Board, Office of Student Affairs, and SOAR.

When: Thursday, May 10th, gates open 11:30 a.m., post-time 1 p.m.
Where: Churchill Downs, 700 Central Ave.

Tickets may be picked up Monday, May 7th, through Wednesday, May 9th, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Room W310 in the SAC. Tickets not picked up at the SAC can be picked up at Churchill Downs Will Call at Gate 10 the day of the event.

Attention May Graduates: Hooding Professors/Staff

The SBA has received several emails from students who would like staff (in addition to professors) to be eligible to hood students at graduation. As such, we are starting the poll over again on TWEN. If you have already voted, please vote again. If you have not voted, you're getting a second chance. You can vote for 3 professors. The first round of voting will end at noon on Wednesday. Go to TWEN and add the course "Hooding Professors Poll" and then click on "Customized Polling" to vote. Please email Katie Bennett (ktbenn01@louisville.edu) if you have any questions or problems with the poll. 

SBA Vacant Positions

There are a few vacant positions on the SBA for the 2012-2013 school year.  The following positions are vacant:

- Technology Chair

- 2 Student Government Association Representatives

- 1 3L Representative

- 3 3L Honor Council positions (1 elected, 2 alternates)

If you are interested in filling any of these positions, please email Jacob Giesecke (jfgies01@louisville.edu) by Friday, April 13th at 5:00pm.  If interested, you will be required to attend the SBA meeting on Tuesday, April 17th at 9:00pm in Room 175.  You will be given an opportunity to speak to the SBA for 3-5 minutes about your qualifications for the positions and why you would like the position.  If you have any questions, please email Jacob Giesecke at the above email address.  

University Budget Forum with President Ramsey

A University budget forum is scheduled for Thursday, April 19th, at 1:00 p.m.  All students are encouraged to join President James R. Ramsey in a discussion about the University of Louisville budget. Your questions and feedback are welcomed. The "Budget Forum with President Ramsey" will be held in the Student Activities Center’s Floyd Theater.

Student of the Month: Greg Mayes

Congratulations to Greg Mayes for being named Student of the Month by the SBA for the month of February.  Greg has served as an Academic Fellow and is also a Brandeis Scholar.  He is the current Notes Editor for the Journal of Law and Education and participated in the mentoring program with Central High School.  Greg is currenlly empled as a law clerk with LG&E and KU Energy.  Congrats, Greg!

Student Tickets

This message is for those students who were chosen in the drawing for 2012-2013 Basketball and Football tickets.  The ticket office contacted the SBA to let us know that they are a bit behind with the student ticket process due to the Final Four.  The ticket process is online this year and the website was scheduled to go live on April 9th.  This date is no longer the website will be up and running.  I will post an update when I hear the new dates from the ticket office.  Thanks for your patience.
