SBF Fellowship Application Deadline Soon

A reminder that the Student Bar Foundation Fellowship Applications are available, attached, and due MONDAY, April 8th. 
Fellowships are intended for any law students who secure unpaid, public interest work for at least 10 weeks over the summer. This includes work all over the country and abroad in a variety of positions, including with the Public Defender, US Attorney, Haiti Project, legal aid, district and circuit court judicial internships, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, and many others!
Application packets must be turned in to Emily Peeler's student mailbox by April 8, 2013 at 5pm, addressed to the Student Bar Foundation. If you have any questions, please contact SBF co-chairs Emily Peeler at empeeler@gmail.com or Ahmed Safeeullah at aasafe01@louisville.edu.

    16th Annual Student Bar Foundation Auction Tonight!

    The SBF Auction is tonight, March 5 at the Brown Hotel. All proceeds will be used for scholarships for law students who take advantage of non-profit public interest employment opportunities this summer.

    There are so many awesome items up for auction that you don't want to miss out on! Including UofL basketball tickets, restaurant gift cards, baskets from local stores, brewery tastings, photography packages, Makers Mark memorabilia, a day at Churchill Downs and MUCH MORE.     The Silent Auction begins at 5:30, and the Live Auction begins at 7:00 and end at 7:15. We look forward to seeing you all there!

    All money raised will provide fellowships for law students who pursue low-paid or unpaid law-related public interest work. The fellowships allow recipients to deliver legal services to the poor and indigent, provide law-related public education, and improve the judiciary, legal profession and citizens' access to the justice system.

    Student Bar Foundation Auction and Involvement

    The last SBF member meeting is Wednesday, February 27th at 12:30 in room 171. Don't forget to sign up for a time to help with set up and to continue to solicit donations!  

    The Annual Auction is in less than two weeks! Tuesday March 5th at the Brown Hotel. If you are a student and would like to be a member, or would like to improve your chances of receiving a Summer Fellowship through SBF for non-profit public service work, please contact Co-Chair Emily Peeler at empeeler@gmail.com. Applications for Summer Fellowships will be released in mid-March, after the auction.
