Public Service Opportunity for 2L

Kentucky Refugee Ministries is looking for assistance from one of our law students.  Kentucky Refugee Ministries is a refugee resettlement agency that resettles persons who have been displaced from their home country due to civil war and genocide. In our immigration legal services program we assist persons from Sudan, Somalia, Cuba, Burma, Liberia and Iraq with obtaining green cards, employment authorization, Naturalization and family reunification.

They are looking for student for a few hours on Friday.  The volunteer would be entering data into the Westlaw database, Immforms, and using that data to create applications for all the above-mentioned services. The volunteer would also be assisting the staff attorney with checking on pending applications with United States Customs and Immigration Services. The work would probably take about three hours each Friday. We are open from 9a.m. to 4:30p.m. The volunteer could come at any time during those hours.

If you are a second year student and think you might be interested in this project, please e-mail Jina Scinta at jina.scinta@louisville.edu.  She will take the first student to respond.
