$15,000: Research Assistants and Tutors are now Fully Funded!

Thanks to Student Bar Association (SBA) President Justin Fowles and UL Student Government Association (SGA) Law Senators Rebecca Ellingsworth and Charles George for their hard work in securing funding for ALL of the law school's research assistant and tutoring positions for the Spring 2008 semester from the SGA. Funding had previously been cut due to the budget constraints, but our representatives were able to secure a total of $15,000 for both programs last night.

This is a significant amount of money from SGA, especially in light of continued University-wide budget cuts and that this funding amounts to more than the budget SBA receives from SGA each academic year. A special thank you is also owed to Dean Chen for personally funding the tutoring program out of his own salary for the first part of this semester.  Another special thank you is also owed to Rebecca O'Neil of Lambda, Bee Dean of the Federalist Society, and Chad Graham of Phi Alpha Delta for their assistance in obtaining funds.

More information will follow regarding starting dates for research assistants from the law school. Questions: please contact Rebecca Ellingsworth at raelli04@louisville.edu.
