Peggy Browning Summer Fellowship Program

Peggy Browning Summer Fellowship Program

The Peggy Browning Fellowship Program provides $5,000 stipends to law students who dedicate their summer to advancing the cause of workers' rights by working for labor unions, worker centers, the U.S. Department of Labor, union-side law firms and other non-profit organizations.  This summer the Program will offer 60-70 funded 10-week summer fellowships at one of the organizations/law firms/government agencies listed below.  These fellowships are open to 1Ls & 2Ls and are intended to encourage them to consider union-side labor law as a viable career choice. Students may apply to a maximum of 5 fellowships.  The deadline to apply is January 18th, 2013.  To apply, students will need to submit an application, resume, cover letter, and 3 essays.  Some employers may require a writing sample.  Students selected to receive a summer fellowships will be notified in February.  For more information and to apply, go to http://www.peggybrowningfund.org/fellowships/for-law-students/fellowship-application-form.  If questions, please contact Dean Hajek at laurel.hajek@louisville.edu or 502.852.6096.
