From the Admissions Office

The study of law is an experience in discovery, discourse and discipline. UofL Law is exceptional in many ways: a strong core curriculum; both a full-time program and a part-time program; a teaching and research oriented faculty; a student body with strong academic credentials and varied personal and professional backgrounds; a supportive legal community, adjunct faculty who bring the "real world" to the classroom; and exposure to global opportunities, including international visiting faculty and student exchanges.

At UofL Law, we emphasize the development of theory, skills, and values. This focus is reflected in our extensive skills programs consisting of the downtown law clinic, externships, expansive moot court teams, and skills competitions, and the Samuel L. Greenbaum Public Service Program. In addition, there are three law journals published through student involvement: the University of Louisville Law Review, the Journal of Law and Education, and the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law. UofL Law proudly provides all of its students with the training and opportunity to transform themselves and the world around them.

We have affordable public tuition rates, which makes us a "Best Value" school by the National Jurist.  Louisville has been designated as one of the nation's five most livable cities by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and is the 16th largest city in the United States.

As you explore UofL Law, we encourage you to contact the Office of Admissions with any questions. We look forward to receiving your application for admission.
