Externships and Law Clinic Information Session on Tuesday
pEach academic year, several opportunities exist for skills-based externship experiences. If you are thinking about participating in an externship or working in the Law Clinic this summer or during the fall semester, please attend the Information Session on strongTuesday, March 5/strong, to hear from faculty supervisors, field supervisors, and students. Representatives from the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, the Internal Revenue Service, the Law Clinic, and the faculty members who oversee the summer and fall externship and clinic opportunities will present information to help you plan your schedule./ppInformation will be provided relating to the following externships: /ppCriminal Justice - Prosecution; County Attorney; Legal Aid; Clinical Research Contracts; Tax – Internal Revenue Service; Department of Public Advocacy; Immigration; Judicial; Technology Transfer; and new In-House Counsel externships with Louisville Metro Gov't and Fort Knox. Professor Shelley Santry will also discuss the Law Clinic and how you can work for the Clinic this summer or fall and earn academic credit./ppstrongThe session will begin at 12:05 p.m. in Room 175/strong. All 1Ls and 2Ls are encouraged to attend. Attendees can enjoy a lunch catered by Fazoli's, including pasta, salad, and breadsticks. Please bring your own drink./p

Learn How to Earn a Certificate of Accomplishment in Litigation or Transactional Skills
pFor students interested in further developing skills and distinguishing themselves in the job market, the Law School will offer a “Certificate of Accomplishment in Litigation Skills” and a “Certificate of Accomplishment in Transactional Skills” to be awarded as an honor upon graduation. The award of a Certificate is intended to demonstrate to potential employers that the student possesses additional training in lawyering skills and values associated with litigation practice or transactional practice. /ppOn Monday, March 4, at noon in Room 275, Professor Tim Hall, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, will describe both certificate programs and discuss:/pp• Eligibility for Participationbr /• Requirements for Award of a Certificatebr /• Program curriculum/ppThis is your chance to learn about an opportunity to develop further distinction at the JD level, and to receive recognition for successful completion of a course of study and advanced training in preparation for professional practice. Sign-Up for Practice Oral Argument Rounds
divFeel nervous about your oral argument? Or perhaps you want one
run-through with helpful feedback? The Moot Court Board (MCB) is holding
Practice Oral Argument rounds beginning the week of March 18th-22nd.
For all interested 1Ls, a sign up sheet will be posted on the MCB door
(room 183 across from Washer Lounge) beginning Monday March 4th until
Friday March 8th. The practice rounds have proven very successful over
the years in helping ease some of the fears you may have concerning your
