The University will conduct a scheduled power outage Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., affecting several buildings on campus, including the law school.  During the outage, the law school's Web site will be offline; however, other University Web resources, such as ULink and Blackboard, will remain available.

Extegrity, publisher of Exam4, informed the UofL Law IT Department today, Tuesday, January 8, 2012, that Exam4 now supports Microsoft Windows 8.

On January 7, 2013, 500 pages of additional credit were added to each current student's printing account.

The classroom wing laptop printer has been exorcised and is working once again. If you do not have this printer installed, please come see me in room 119 after the Spring term has begun.

This is the last reminder that the Exam4 practice test deadline for Fall 2012 final exams, including Professional Responsibility, is tonight at 11:59 PM EDT. To submit any Exam4 file, practice test or otherwise, you must be on campus and connected to ulsecure.

To submit a valid practice test, you must identify yourself using your ULink user name (e.g., lhowas01) and choose "F12 Practice exam" on the Course menu. The Legal Research version of Exam4 and all other previous versions have expired, so you must download and install and test the current version.

After the practice test submission deadline, students who have submitted a valid practice test will receive a confirmation e-mail. In the meantime, however, you may check whether your practice test was received using ExamTracker 4000. At least once each week day, the IT staff will update the ExamTracker, moving invalid submissions to a folder labeled "Wrong." Typical reasons why submissions may be invalid include:

Some students have reported a problem when attempting to complete their practice exam for Exam 4 while using Macs running Lion, version 10.7.x  The problem is that the exam does not submit and the network does not reconnect at all until the computer is restarted.  We have informed Extegrity of this problem but still require more information to assist them with troubleshooting.  If you experience this problem please inform the IT department at UofLLawIT@louisville.edu or by stopping by my office, room 119, and report your Operating System version.

There are more common reasons for not being able to successfully submit an exam; please make sure you are on campus and connected to ulsecure, not ulopen, before you start Exam 4 and give Exam 4 a minute or two to reconnect to ulsecure after the exam is ended. If you still cannot submit please contact the Law IT department.
