TODAY!! Barbri Fellowship Silent Auction Winner(s) To Be Announced

Time is running out! Don't forget about the BarBri silent auction for two $750 gift certificates. The certificate amount won through the auction will apply against any remaining student account balance for the bar review course. Bidding will start at $375 for each certificate through 12:00 p.m. TODAY (BarBri Table Day). The bid sheets are located outside the Office of Professional Development, and payment is due two weeks after bidding closes. The winners of the certificates will be announced at 12:15 p.m. TODAY at the BarBri table in the Mosaic Lobby. All money raised from the silent auction which will support a student to work at the Ky. Department of Public Advocacy over the summer.

Attention 2Ls!! Federal Judicial Clerkships Information Session RESCHEDULED

The judicial clerkship information session is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, from 12-1 in Room LL80. If you are a 2L and you have been thinking about applying for a federal judicial clerkship, we strongly encourage you attend.

The Office of Professional Development has recently learned that OSCAR has made some changes to the application and hiring process. One of the changes is that 2Ls can start to apply immediately. Our office will be discussing these changes, as well as, everything you will need to know to apply for federal judicial clerkships on OSCAR and the documents required to upload with your application.

We are asking second year students to RSVP for this program. Please RSVP to Jina Scinta at jina.scinta@louisville.edu by 12:00 noon TODAY. Even if you RSVP'd before, please RSVP again so we will have an accurate headcount.

Public Service Fellowship Applications for Summer 2014 Now Available!

The Public Service fellowship applications for the Summer of 2014 are available. A list of the fellowships that will be awarded, the amount of each fellowship and a description of each agency is attached. A list of the fellowships that will be awarded, the amount of each fellowship and a description is also located on the bulletin board outside of Room 180.

Applications are available on Symplicity only. Paper applications will not be accepted. Students can apply for fellowships by logging onto Symplicity, completing an application and uploading a resume and personal statement. Students are welcome to apply for as many fellowships as they wish; however, please note that a separate application must be completed for each fellowship.

Instructions on how to log onto Symplicity and apply for the fellowships are also attached. Please be sure to read the instructions and qualifications for each fellowship carefully and take note of the additional documents that need to be uploaded.

The deadline to apply for fellowships is Tuesday, February 4, 2014. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Scinta.

TODAY!! Second Interview Skills Workshop

TODAY from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., in Room LL75, the Office of Professional Development will host its second information session to help you with interview skills in preparation of upcoming interviews. Even if you attended the interview skills workshop on January 16, Dean Hajek will build on the advice that was given at that session.

Although this is for all students, this session will be especially of interest to those who have signed up for on campus interviews. Pizza will be served.

Spring 2014 OCI Session 1 Dates and Deadline Changes

Spring 2014 OCI Session 1 Dates & Deadlines have changed.  Session 1 Employers now have through Monday, January 27 to make student selections.  Students will be able to log into OCI - Session 1 on Symplicity beginning Tuesday, January 28 to see if they were selected to interview.  If you are selected to interview, you will click "Accept".  Students have until Noon on Thursday, January 30 to sign up for an interview time.
