On Tuesday, Feb. 5, at noon in the Cox Lounge, the Black Law Students Association and the Diversity Committee will present a discussion with Dr. Adewale Troutman, Director, Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness. Dr. Troutman will discuss health equity issues, including the lack of equal access to healthy, affordable food in certain sectors of our community ("the food desert"). He will be joined by Cathy Hinko, Director, Metropolitan Housing Coalition, and Dr. Lauri Andress, Director, Center for Health Equity.

Dr. Adewale Troutman, became director of Louisville Metro
Public Health and Wellness in 2004. He is also an associate professor at the
University of Louisville School of Public Health. Troutman holds an M.D. from
the University of
Medicine and Dentistry of
New Jersey, an M.P.H. from the Columbia University School of Public Health, and
an M.A. in Black Studies from the State University of New York. Dr. Troutman's full bio is available on the
