SBA Elections: Vote on TWEN by Noon Today!

SBA Elections close at noon today.  Please take 5 minutes to vote on TWEN.  Due to an error on my part, there will be a Run-Off Election next week to determine the 2L  Honor Council Members.  If any other races are tied, those will be included as well. 

More Career Week - Today!

Today, April 3 at 12pm in room 174, Sports and Entertainment Law will be hosting an event for Career Week. The event will focus of various aspects of this field, the nature of law and role of attorneys related to sports and entertainment, and opportunities within the city of Louisville. Speakers will include Kyle Anne Citrynell (Seiller Waterman LLC), Jeremy J. Beck (Ackerson & Yann).

Today, April 2 at 1pm in room 175, Environmental Law & Land Use Society will be hosting an event for Career Week. The event will focus on the various aspects of this field, the nature of law and role of attorneys related to the environment, and opportunities within the city of Louisville. Speakers will include Randal Strobo (W.H. Graddy & Associates), Mary Stephens (KY Division of Water), Bob Ehrler (LG&E Senior Counsel), and
Stephen Porter (Solo Practicioner). Food will be provided.

Career Week continues

Today, April 1 at 12pm in room 175, Labor/Employment Law Society will be hosting an event for Career Week. The event will focus on the difference between labor and employment, the nature of law and role of attorneys in this field, and opportunities within the city of Louisville. Speakers will include Chris Sanders from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Irwin "Buddy" Cutler from Priddy, Cutler, Miller, and Meade, and Emily Lamb from Wyatt Tarrant & Combs. Food will be provided.

Career Week - Day 3

Wednesday at 12pm (noon) in room 275, International Law Society will be hosting an event for Career Week. The event will focus on different aspects of international law, the role of attorneys, its applicibility to the city of Louisville, and what the future looks like for lawyers in this field. Speakers include Robert Brown from Bingham Greenebaum Doll, Pei Zhang from Frost Brown Todd, and Becky O'Neill. Food will be provided. 

SBA Election: Last Interest Meeting Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 28 is the last Candidate Interest Meeting and Final Deadline to sign up to run for SBA Office.  The attached Rules should answer any questions, but interested candidates may email jbrandonjonson@gmail.com with questions.  If you are still considering, get out of your seat and go sign up!!

The Business Law Society will host a discussion on the different aspects of law in business, the role of attorneys, and what the future looks like for lawyers in this field. We are grateful to have accomplished attorneys from the largest law firm in Louisville (Frost Brown Todd) in Justin Fowles, Joshua O'Bryan, and Tommy Sturgeon, as well as Coy Travis from Weber & Rose. As always, food will be provided. We look forward to your attendance in room 175 at 1pm!

Come join us for the beginning of Career Week! The ACLU, American Constitution Society, and the Federalist Society will host a discussion on the different aspects of law in government, the role of attorneys in the process, and what the future looks for lawyers in this field. We couldn't ask for more qualified speakers: Clay Barkley from the Office of the Attorney General, Bill Sharp from the ACLU of Kentucky, and Amy Cubbage who helped litigate a Supreme Court case (Parents Involved). As always, food will be provided. We look forward to your attendance in room 175 at 12pm noon!
