Student Bar Association News
The SBA is seeking volunteers for the upcoming University-wide Phone-a-thon. During the week of September 17, the Phone-a-thon will be exclusively contacting law school alumni for the annual giving campaign. Alumni giving supports our law school in numerous ways and is an integral part of our law school's success and academic reputation. This is a great way to network and let alumni know we appreciate their support!
Volunteers are needed for the following nights and times. There will be a required 30-minute training session prior to making calls in order to familiarize volunteers with the phone software and calling script. Calling times are flexible so if you are not able to commit to the whole time period please don't let that discourage you from helping out. Any of your time that you can give is appreciated! Please contact Jessica Williamson (Jessica.email@example.com) for more information or to sign up.

Do you have an idea for the next Brandeis School of Law T-shirt design? The Student Bar Association is sponsoring a contest in which students may submit a law school related design. The design will be screened onto shirts and made available for sale to the entire law school. The designs will be compiled by the SBA, and students will vote for their favorite design. The winning design will be put into production and available for purchase through the Student Bar Association. The SBA is encouraging anyone in the law school community to submit a design. The contest rules and details will be released next week, and submissions will be due on or before Tuesday September 18th.

What do you want in life? Money? Fame? Love? Marriage? Success? A job? What would you do if I told you that it can be yours? Perception is reality. We can be our own worst enemies because most of us choose to cage ourselves in our own realities. Your mind has unlimited potential. You can harness its power and utilize it to get anything you want. Come listen to Larry Forman speak on our own personal mental boxes and learn how to escape them and the vicious loop of negative emotion. You will learn how to set goals and achieve anything the mind can conceive. Remember that no goal is too extreme, and no objective is out of reach. See you there, my friends. Sponsored by Hillel.
The meeting will be held on Thursday September 20 at Noon in room 175. Bring your own lunch.
In order to have one centralized location to view upcoming student organization-sponsored events for the week and to clear the law school's walls and steps from clutter, we're introducing a new policy for posting Recognized Student Organization (RSO) events.
Flyers for all RSO and SBA events must be posted on the new cork-board in the Mosaic Lobby. The board is labeled, "This Week's Events" and will be dedicated to the law school's weekly RSO and SBA events. Please ensure enough room is left for every RSO having events during the week to add a flyer. For those events that are more than a week away, please continue to post updates and reminders in the Student Orgs daily email.
We think this new policy will be a win-win for everyone. Students will now have a quick reminder when they walk into the building about events for the week. Student organizations will save time, money, and energy not having to post 15 flyers around the law building. The building itself will look less cluttered. Faculty and staff will not have to remove old flyers. And, paper will be saved! We ask for your cooperation with the new policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jacob Giesecke, SBA President, or Dean Ballard.
University of Louisville's CPC (Club Programming Committee) provides funding for student organizations' special events (i.e. guest speakers) that would not be possible without this financial assistance. CPC requires a detailed budget of how the funding will be used.
For guidelines and the application, please visit http://louisville.edu/dos/students/programsawards/cpc/club-programming-committee.html. The fall 2012 application deadline is September 19, 2012, at 3 pm for events occurring after October 10, for the fall semester.
